Steve’s Airport Transfers

Will the shuttle drop me at my accommodation?
Yes - we offer a door to door shuttle service from Ballina Byron Gateway Airport to Byron Bay, Suffolk Park and Lennox Head. Please contact us if you are unsure if your property is accessible by shuttle bus and trailer.

How much is a shuttle from Ballina Byron Gateway Airport to Byron Bay?
$20 one way per person
$35 return per person; applies to pre-booked return fares only

Do you meet every flight?
We meet every Jetstar and Virgin flight into Ballina Byron Gateway Airport, 365 days of the year. We don’t have a scheduled service for REX or Pelican flights however we can assist with a private transfer. Please phone for a quote.

Do your buses have seat belts?
Yes, all our buses are fitted with seat belts.

Do you carry surfboards and other oversized items?
Yes. All our buses are equipped with trailers.

  • Surfboards travel free of charge. If you are travelling with excess luggage, please phone and let us know as there may be a small fee involved.
  • If you are travelling with a family, there is no additional charge for prams, car seats etc.
  • Bikes must be appropriately packaged.


Do you accept credit card payments?
Yes, Mastercard and Visa.

What are the child ages and rates? 
A child fare is $10, this applies to children aged 4 – 14, those under 4 years of age travel free. Please phone us and we can assist with your booking.

Where is the meeting point at the Ballina Airport?
We have a service desk in the arrival terminal situated next to the exit doors. Look for the drivers in Hawaiian shirts upon entering the terminal.

What happens if my flight is delayed?
If you have a prepaid booking, we will wait for you. In the situation of poor weather conditions, causing significant delays or redirection to another airport, management will reassess at the time and communicate with you directly.

Are private airport transfers available?Yes. Private transfers can be booked from Ballina Byron Gateway Airport, Gold Coast Airport and Brisbane Airport for a minimum of one person. Please phone us for a quote.

Steve’s Happy Coach

Where does the Happy Coach pickup from?
We depart from the Byron Bay main bus stop daily at 10:00am. We can also pickup from your accommodation. Please advise us of your pickup address at time of booking and we will let you know the departure time.

How long is the tour?
Happy Coach departs at 10:00am and we will be back in Byron Bay by 4:30pm to ensure you are back in time if you have a connecting Greyhound bus trip.

How much is the tour?
Only $50! Byron Bay’s best value day tour.

Is lunch included in the price?
Yes! Your driver will create you a delicious gourmet burger while you are enjoying the sights of Nimbin.

Do you cater for vegetarians/vegans?
Absolutely. Please notify your driver of your dietary requirements upon pickup and you too will enjoy a delicious lunch.


Can we book the Happy Coach for a private tour?
Yes - if you have a group and would like to enjoy the flexibility of creating your own timetable and journey, we can arrange this. The Happy Coach is also a very popular choice for Bucks/Hens/Birthday parties. Phone us for a quote.

What makes the tour so much fun?
The Happy Coach is a guaranteed epic day out from the minute you board the Happy Coach until the minute you are delivered back to Byron Bay!

Can we swim at the waterfall?
You will enjoy a tranquil walk through the rainforest to the picturesque waterfall, however we don’t stop here for a swim. In summer months be sure to bring your swimmers and enjoy a swim in the local Nimbin swimming pool, located where we stop for lunch.
